4.1 Our commitments
I aim to report accurately, fairly and independently, to distinguish news from opinion, and to follow the Press Code of Ethics and Conduct for South African Print and Digital Media administered by the Press Council of South Africa (www.presscouncil.org.za).
4.2 Sources and confidentiality
Information you share with me is treated as confidential. Sources remain anonymous unless they ask otherwise. I protect sources to the fullest extent the law allows, and I cannot promise protection where a court order or legal duty requires disclosure.
4.3 Sponsored and promotional content
Any sponsored, promotional or supplied content is labelled as such.
4.4 Corrections and right of reply
If you believe something I published is inaccurate, email info@sheetalcross.com with the article title or link, what is wrong, the correct information, and your contact details. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly with a visible note stating what was changed and when. I do not silently alter published facts. People named in an article may ask for a right of reply.
4.5 The archive
The Newsroom contains archive articles. Each shows its publication date, and details may have changed since. You can ask for an update or, in exceptional cases, the removal of an article. Each request is weighed on its merits, balancing the public interest in the record against privacy and the harm described.
4.6 Complaints
Write to me first at info@sheetalcross.com. If you are not satisfied, you may take the complaint to the Press Council of South Africa or the Press Ombud (www.presscouncil.org.za).
